Engineered wood floors HELP waterheater broke?

We have a mess here =(. Got home to find our water heater broke. The water
heater is in between 2 rooms, one our office with engineered wood cherry floors
they click together and have a pad underneath, and brand new carpeting in the other
room that smells already is is soaked near the doorway.

This is what we’ve done so far. Pulled the wood floors out. Most look WET, some are just kinda
wet.. were going to pull the padding out and replace it with new padding but is there anything we can do to save the wood, blowdry, fan??? Something help please.

Carpet?
Does the fan dry them out better? Instead of just letting them dry on their own? Will we need to probably replace the saturated ones? =( I’m his wife he’s crying in the other room jk. but almost lol
Yes, USAA. We won’t know until Monday if it covers. I’m thinking their going to try to come up with some bs story saying its’ not covered because we should of noticed the water breakage which is bs? I am praying it will cover this, idk why it wouldn’t?? We have all the wood pieces all over the house with fans everywhere, but most of them look wet where you can see the stains in the back already

    Refinishing old wood stairs?

I recently installed laminate flooring. I also removed the carpeting from the stairs. The nose of each stair is rounded and I don’t think I can fit the laminate flooring and the front nose piece that came to finish the stairs over the rounded edge. So, I was thinking I was just sand and stain the existing stairs. I’ve started by removing any staples or nails that were left from the carpet and started by sanding the bottom two stairs. I don’t feel like this approach is going to work. How do I refinish these stairs?!? aahhhh.. Anyone with an eleborate response or step by steps…please email me. cjohnson1104@sbcglobal.net

    Thank You!

What do you think of your wood floor?

We are looking to take out our carpet and put in wood flooring. We can not decide on what we want. Laminate or engineered or real wood. If we went with laminate, what is the best for the money. I know Pella is top of the line but is there any other? Any advice or experiences is appreciated.

Is it cheaper to sand/refinish hardwood flooring or to buy new carpet?

We just moved into our (new to us) home. Upon ripping up the old gross carpeting upstairs, the "beautiful" hardwoods that were supposed to be underneath were anything but. There is paint splattered all over them in many different spots and they have never been refinished. You can tell they would be nice, if they were sanded and stained. We have spent so much money on the new house, I want to go the cheapest route! Refinishing or carpet? Any ideas?
