DIY – weekend desk project – refinish

It is difficult to calculate the number of total hours worked on this project. We worked on it when we ‘made time’ to dedicate. If i had to guess, i would say about 20 beers. As noted, we had to replace the top and the knobs (), we had all necessary materials available (eg sandpaper, stain, wood finish, etc.) It appears this desk was originally white with gold inlet and oxidized brass caps on each leg. We removed layers of black, dark blue, two different purples, pink and some white paint. We could not remove the paint from the leg caps, so we had to sand them as well. I am very surprised with the finished product, i really did not believe it would end so nicely. The photographs are not reversed, this is a left handed desk. Since we are not left handed, this will work out to be my sewing machine table (… all i need now is to learn to sew).
